Organic Travel publishes guides to healthy and organic places. We started looking for these places out of a necessity to find organic and natural food both in our own town and across the country. We like to travel, but when we decided to make the switch to organic foods, we had a tough time eating out. During our travels, we found natural food markets to be a good source of food, especially those markets that have deli food. However, we also enjoyed being able to dine out at restaurants that served organic and healthy entrees. Currently, there are not as many organic restaurants as there are natural food markets, but we think that will begin to change in the near future. To help other travelers like ourselves and people who want to find healthy places in their own city or town, we began publishing these guides.

In our guides, you will find natural food markets, organic and healthy restaurants, and farmers markets, which are all great sources of fresh, organic food. We have also added organic farms and wineries that are open to the public. These places are a good source of organic and healthy food, plus it's great to see where some of our food actually comes from. You can't beat fresh food right from the farm!

For travelers, we will be listing more and more green lodging. These are accommodations that may choose to serve organic food, have an organic garden or pesticide-free grounds, or use chemical-free cleaners.

Also of high importance are places to visit that do not spray potentially dangerous pesticides. We have listed some pesticide-free parks. While there are only a handful of these, we believe that pesticide-free parks, along with organic restaurants, will become more commonplace in the near future.

And for more things to do while traveling, we also list natural attractions and organic stores. These categories include natural areas and parks, wildlife viewing, nature tours, learning centers, and organic stores that sell a variety of organic products.
