This farm emphasizes organic produce and farming, but is not exclusively organic. They offer a produce stand with many organic fruits and vegetables and a picnic area. Also highlighted at this farm is an agricultural education center, which is a 5 acre demonstration farm. Everything grown on the 5 acre demonstration farm is grown organically. Four of the five acres are certified organic by CCOF and the fifth acre will be certified in the near future. The Farm offers a variety of farm tours including a basic tour, school and group tours, and custom tours. The tours cover both conventional and organic farming methods. All tours require advance reservations. The basic farm tour is about 45 minutes to 1 hour and includes an overview of farming in the Salinas Valley and a description of the 5 acre demonstration farm. During the tour, you will be able to walk through the fields and even pick and sample some fresh produce. The basic tours are offered Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1pm. It costs $6 for people 12 and older, $4 for children 2 through 11 and free for kids under 2. School or group tours include a hay wagon ride, the opportunity to harvest a crops and an introduction to the farm animals. The custom tours are for 1 to 4 people and include an in-depth farming experience. The Farm also has a farm animal exhibit open to children and adults. The kinds of animals on display vary, but can include goats, chickens, lamb, calves, rabbits and ducks. The farm, including the produce stand, is open from April to mid-December, Monday through Saturday from 9am to 6pm (until 5pm in the winter) and closed on Sunday. This farm is less than 10 minutes from Highway 101.
