This organic apple farm is a member of Apple Hill, a group of over 50 farms and ranches in the town of Camino, about 10 minutes east of Placerville. There are six organic farms in Apple Hill, but not all are open to the public. Celtic Gardens is open to the public from August to November, on weekends only. They grow apples, table grapes and a variety of pumpkins. Some cooking classes are offered at this farm. And if you have a group of kids or adults interested in taking a tour of this working organic farm, call Celtic Gardens for details. This organic farm is located about 5 to 7 minutes from Highway 50. From Placerville, take Highway 50 east towards Tahoe. Drive for about 10 minutes and then take the Cedar Grove Exit #54 (which is actually a little past Camino). At the bottom of the off ramp, turn left and go back under the freeway. You'll be on Carson Road which curves to the left, heading (west) back into Camino. Just after you pass the small town of Camino, turn right on Larsen Drive (it will be before the lumber mill). Go about 1 mile and turn left onto North Canyon Road. Go .7 miles and Celtic Gardens will be on the right. From Lake Tahoe, take the Cedar Grove Exit #54 and at the stop sign, turn right onto Carson Rd. Turn right on Larsen Drive, go about 1 mile and then turn left onto North Canyone Road. Go .7 miles and the farm will be on the right.
