This working forest features a rich cultural and natural history, more than 707,000 acres of beautiful rugged scenery, over 600 miles of trails, and an abundance of recreational opportunities. Developed and primitive camping is available throughout the forest and may have some or all of the following: picnic tables, grills, drinking water, restrooms, showers, boating access, and/or a dump station. There are no water hookups at the campgrounds.
