With an original donation of 1,020 acres by the Daughters of the American Revolution, this park has now grown to almost 1,800 acres and has become a popular year round recreational destination with such features as the Upper and Lower Highland Lakes, miles and miles of scenic multi-use trails, and a fire tower that gives clear day views into 5 states. The camp area is available with reservations from mid-May through mid-October, and on a first-come/first-served basis during the off-season. The 51 site campground sits above a scenic wetland where wildlife sighting is common, and accessible restrooms, water, and a dump station are available.
