Once a mining area, this park sits at about 7,000 feet and came into being to protect and display North America's richest concentration and largest known Ichthyosaur fossils. It also oversees the old mining town of Berlin and the Diana Mine. There is an extensive sign/trail system that tells the history and features of this Registered Natural Landmark, a nature trail, and viewing windows at the Fossils Shelter. There are no electric or water hookups at the campgrounds.
