A National Natural Landmark, this beautiful state park is rich in its natural beauty, history, and geology, and features Vikingsholm, one of the best examples of Scandinavian architecture in the western hemisphere. The park is also home to Lake Tahoe's only island, Fannette Island, and there are a variety of recreational opportunities to pursue. There are 268 family campsites and a group camp between the D.L. Bliss State Park and Emerald Bay, reserved-or on a first come/first serve basis and the sites each have a table, cupboard, and stove. There are restrooms and hot showers nearby. This campground is closed during the off-season. There are no electric or water hookups at the campgrounds.
