These Certified markets were the 1st in the country to eliminate plastic bags/packaging; they are dedicated to the support of small-scale farmers who engage in sustainable agriculture, and in providing education about sustainable farming. The market provides a wide variety of farm-fresh local, conventional and organic produce and products, fresh baked goods, goat milk/cheeses, oils, preserves, all natural meats/poultry, organic free range eggs, preserves, local honey and honey products, prepared foods, and much more. The markets run year round, rain or shine: The Tuesday market on Derby Street runs from 2 pm until 7 pm (winter 2-6 pm); the Thursday All-Organic market is located on Shattuck Avenue at Rose Street (I-80, exit Gilman Street) and runs from 3 pm until 7 pm, and the Saturday market is on Center Street at MLK, Jr. Way (I 80, exit University Avenue) and runs from 10 am until 3 pm. WIC and EBT are accepted. They also have a Frequent Shopper Program, several special events throughout the year, and there is often entertainment.
