The Portland open-air markets provide a fresh bounty of local and organic produce, naturally raised products, artisanal breads/bakery items, homemade canned goods, prepared foods, fresh/dried flowers, bedding and gardening plants, art and craft items, and more. It also offers activities like Kids Cook in the Market, Chef in the Market, market festivals, live music, entertainment, and demonstrations. There are 5 locations: [1] The market at the state university, located in the south park blocks between SW Harrison and SW Montgomery (I 405, exit 1C), is open from about mid-March to mid-December on Saturdays from 8:30 am until 2 pm - except November and December they open at 9 am. [2] The Downtown Market, located at SW Park Avenue and Main Street (H 99 W, exit SW Jefferson Street), is open from the end of April to the end of October on Wednesdays from 10 am until 2 pm. [3] Thursdays market, located at Ecotrust's Jean Vollum Natural Capital Center on NW 10th (I 405, exit 2B), is open from 3:30 pm until 7:30 pm starting at the beginning of June thru to about the 3rd week in September. [4] The Eastbank market, located in the parking lot of Hinson Baptist Church at SE 20th and Salmon (H 99/SE Grand Avenue, exit SE Salmon Street), is open from 3:30 pm until 7:30 pm from about the beginning of May until about the 3rd week in September. [5] Sunday's market, located in the King neighborhood at NE 7th Avenue and Wygant Street (H 99/NE MLK Jr Blvd, exit NE Going Street), is open from 10 am until 2 pm from the beginning of May until about the 3rd week in October. Dogs are allowed at Thursday Eastbank farmers market, the Thursday market at Ecotrust, and the new Sunday King Market only.
