Four ranger districts oversee more than 600,000 acres of forest lands rich with diverse ecosystems that support a large variety habitats and wildlife, cultural history, and recreational opportunities. There is also an environmental education center with numerous activities and programs, a 36 mile trail that goes from the mountains to the sea, and many other sites of interest. There are a variety of camp sites in numerous settings each with their own special features. Campsites may have all or some of the following: flush or vault toilets, restrooms, showers, tables, grills, lantern holders, drinking water, and a dump station. There are no electric or water hookups at the campgrounds.
